François Guizot : quelques lettres inédites (1861-1871)

RÉSUMÉ
La Bibliothèque du Protestantisme français possède un fonds Guizot, contenant des dizaines de lettres inédites adressées et surtout reçues par l'illustre homme d'Etat. Elles concernant ses activités au sein de l'Eglise réformée et les ouvrages qu'il a consacrés aux questions religieuses. Quelques-unes d'entre elles, écrites entre 1861 et 1871, sont ici présentées et reproduites. Elles traitent des rapports avec le catholicisme romain, des conflits entre libéraux et évangéliques, des grands principes du christianisme, et aussi de l'avenir de la France après la défaite de 1870.

SUMMARY
The library of French Protestantism owns a Guizot collection which includes dozens of unpublished letters written, and more especially received, by the famous statesman. They concern his activities within the Reformed Church and the works written by him about religious questions. Some of these letters, written between 1861 and 1871, are presented and transcribed in the present article. They deal with relations with the Roman Catholic Church, with conflicts between Liberals and Evangelicals, with the basic principles of Christianity, and also with the future of France after the defeat of 1870.

Die Bibliothek des französischen Protestantismus besitzt eine Sammlung zahlreicher bisher nicht edierter Briefe von und an den berühmten Staatsmann. Sie betreffen seine Aktivitäten in der Reformierten Kirche und die Werke, die er zu religiösen Fragen verfasst hat. Einige dieser Briefe aus der Zeit zwischen 1861 und 1871 werden präsentiert und Abgedruckt. Sie behandeln die Beziehungen mit dem römischen Katholizismus, die Konflikte zwischen Liberalen und Evangelikalen, die Hauptlinien des christlichen Glaubens sowie die Zukunft Frankreichs nach Niederlage von 1870.
